About the Silicon Valley Sports Grand Prix (Sports day)


The 1st Silicon Valley Sports Grand Prix in 2014

Purpose: 

We would like to build and strengthen social bonds in communities who lives in the Silicon Valley and its neighbors through the sports event.

Our target:

We are planning to bring in approximately 400 people who resides in the Silicon Valley and its neighbors.

Competing Sports:

Tug-of-war, Ball-toss game, Obstacle relay, Giant ball rolling race, Cavalry battle, 400 m Relay etc.

FAQs

Program-Related

  • How will the teams be divided?We will divide up and assign the participants into 4 teams.
  • Can we choose which games we participate in?Yes, you will get to choose which games you would like to participate in. Each team has 4 leaders and they are in charge of managing the teams. So please follow their instructions.
  • Will there be games where children can take part in?Yes. We are organizing the games corresponding to how many participants, and how many children are there at the sports festival.
  • How many games can I participate in?That will be decided among the group on the day of the sports day.
  • How long is our lunch break?We are planning to have lunch break about one hour. Light lunch and a bottle of tea will be provided.
  • Who should we talk to if something goes wrong?Please report to the leaders and/or staff headquarters.
  • How should the other family members register, if my father is the only one who is participating in the games?Register only the participant’s name. However, we will only be able to provide the participant’s team t-shirt, lunch, and so you will need to bring your own beverage and food.

Administration-Related

  • When should we pay the registration fee?We will collect the payment through Eventbrite page after the application is completed.
  • Is it possible to cancel the registration?Yes, you can cancel it via Eventbrite, however the registration fee is Non-Refundable.
  • Is it possible to participate midway?Yes. Leaving midway is also possible. In that case, please notify your team leader.
  • What happens if it rains?We will decide if we will continue or postpone the event.

Facility-related

  • Is there parking near by?We have one in the Gunn High School facility,where we can park a few hundreds of cars.
  • Will there be any restrooms close by?Yes, one in the stadium, and one outside the stadium.

Meal-Related

  • What is provided in the light lunch?Two rice balls and a meal. We are also providing a 500ml bottle of tea.
  • Will we be able to purchase anything at the stadium?We are planning to sell bottles of water and tea on site. We highly recommend you to bring some cash to purchase them.

Prize-Related

  • Will we be rewarded if we win a game?That, we will keep it as a surprise!
  • Will we be rewarded if we win the competition?Yes, however we will keep it as a surprise as well.

Other Questions

  • What happens if we get injured?We will provide a first-aid on site. However any injury beyond that, will be taken at your own risk. Also, the management headquarters will not be taking any responsibilities. So please participate at your own risk and responsibility. We ask every participant to accept the waiver clause which is in Eventbrite page.
  • Are you in a health care insurance?No we have not joined.
  • What should we bring on the day of?Because it will be very hot, we encourage you to bring towels, exercise (gym) clothes, a change of clothes, and other belongings that will help prevent heat strokes. However we encourage every single person to bring their fun and energetic spirits!!
  • What happens if we run into trouble in the parking lot?We will not take any responsibilities in case of theft, damage, accidents, or any other of that sort at the event.
